What to Know about Chiropractic Care for Workers Compensation

At Chiropractic First, we accept workers compensation. If you were hurt on the job, here’s what you need to know about using workers compensation for chiropractic care.

Workers Comp for Chiropractor

If you are hurt on the job, you have the right to receive paid care via workers comp benefits. Every Wyoming employer must offer workers comp benefits, but the terms of the package differ. We recommend that you contact your HR department for help understanding your worker’s comp benefits.

Before you seek care, you must alert your employer that you were hurt at work and open a claim.

If your company has a “company doctor” they use for workers comp injuries, you must visit them first. You may still be able to use the benefits to see a chiropractor, but you’ll have to go to the company doctor for a referral or wait the 28-day waiting period set in place by the state.

If your company doesn’t have a chosen doctor, you’re free to seek care with any provider, such as here at Chiropractic First. However, you’ll need paperwork so your care is covered by workers comp.

  • Massage therapy – Massage warms up the body for chiropractic care, increases circulation in injured tissue, and promotes muscle recovery after a workplace injury.
  • Spinal decompression – Decompression treatments hydrate the spinal column, providing an alternative to back surgery for a herniated disc.
  • Corrective exercises – Corrective exercises strengthen your muscles so you can return to work safely.
