Most Common Car Accident Injury Types

A car accident can result in a number of injuries, ranging from cuts and bruises to broken bones and more. One of the most common auto accident injury types we see here in our office is that of whiplash, a painful condition that occurs when the muscles and tendons around the spine become damaged. This happens when the spine itself is thrust forward violently, such as when a vehicle impacts a stationary object.

Another common injury resulting from an auto accident is that of a herniated or bulging disc. Between each vertebra in the spine is a fluid-filled disc that acts as a pillow or cushion of sorts when the spine moves and bends. When these discs are thrown out of alignment (such as during an auto accident), the results can be extremely painful.

Chiropractic Treatment for an Auto Accident Injury

The good news is that if you have been injured in an auto accident and are suffering from back pain, neck pain, or other similar symptoms, chiropractic treatment may be able to help. In our office, we can perform a wide range of techniques to treat your symptoms and help you find relief. These include:

  • Chiropractic Adjustment - used to improve alignment of the spine after an accident, improving nerve function and elevating health.  It is also effective in treating herniated or bulging discs by putting spine back into a more proper alignment.
  • Massage Therapy - great for treating symptoms of whiplash by relaxing tense muscles and relieving tightness and pain in the tendons while also improving range of motion and minimizing inflammation.    Massage provides relief for soft tissue injuries following an auto accident by improving blood circulation and stimulating the body's healing process.
  • ArthroStim - a special tool used for controlled force spinal adjustment and manipulation.  It is a very effective and gentle way to get adjusted.
  • Activator Method - a small device also used as a low force adjustment.   It is a very effective and gentle way to adjust.
